The freshwaters of the Big Cypress Swamp, essential to the health of the neighboring Everglades, support rich marine estuaries along Florida’s southwest coast.

The interpretive waysides designed for this project present the ecosystem of the preserve, the connection of habitat to the vast diversity of wildlife it supports and the toll that humans take on natural systems.
