Nature Station is an impactful and creative outreach program that brings nature to your doorstep. This mobile exhibit is custom built into a 16’ x 8’ trailer and features a forest, quarry, wetland, and garden with 14 hands-on activities.
Whirlwind Creative designed and built the Nature Station to create the feeling of the forest using natural woods, photographs from the Rye Nature Center as the background, and a ceiling that replicates the canopy of the trees on a summer’s day. The space is meant to be both a classroom and exhibit with lessons created by Friends of Rye Nature Center education team.
Nature Station travels to schools, parks and other places throughout Westchester County and beyond to provide meaningful experiences to more people who do not interact with nature regularly. This connection to the environment aims to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.
